Please see maps below. In order to install this pipeline it will be necessary for Union Gas and its Contractor to remove trees along the pipeline route. Construction of the majority of the pipeline project is planned to begin in the spring of 2016. However, tree removal has recently begun to avoid bird nesting seasons and to take advantage of frozen ground conditions which helps avoid rutting and related impacts to the soil. Union Gas is committed to minimizing the effects of their projects and operations on the environment. To minimize the impact of tree removal Union Gas will replace an area of trees twice that of those removed, and will work closely with the local conservation authority on tree replacement.

Union Gas will construct an almost 12 kilometre, 20 inch diameter pipeline and upgrade a related pressure station facility. This pipeline will connect the existing Dawn-Parkway transmission pipeline to the Burlington-Oakville distribution network.
The first public information sessions to gather input were held in November 2014. These sessions were designed to inform all interested stakeholders and the larger community about the project. In December 2014, Union Gas submitted their application to the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) and issued a notice of application in January 2015. The project was approved by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) in December 2015.
Where possible Union Gas contractors will use many local resources and materials to build the infrastructure.
