Car Free Sunday Street Festival June 8 2014
I have been pleased to bring the Car Free Street Festival to Ward 6. I believe our community will be much more exciting and vibrant if we do events and festivals all over the City, not just the downtown.
The Car Free Sunday Street Festival celebrated our community and got neighbours outside talking and sharing. Our volunteers were from Ward 6 and they too had the experience of giving back to the place they live in.
Our sponsors were people from area businesses that wanted to give back to the community that supports them.
We also celebrated saving our environment by shedding our cars and walking, biking and skateboarding to the event.
We had many activities, clowns, Burr Bear, Bouncy Castles, horseback riding, games, photo booths, caricatures, food and more.
Even the rain couldn’t keep people away this year. I hope to bring the Car Free Sunday Street Festival event back to Ward 6 making it better than ever next year.
