Apeldoorn Park – Naming a new park for our Twin City

Apeldoorn Park – Installation and Approval of a New Park

As the Council representative on the City’s Mundialization Committee, I was instrumental in changing the name and re-building Elgin Park to Apeldoorn Park to honour the relationship we have with our twin city Apeldoorn in the Netherlands.

Recognizing and honouring our relationship in this regard is an important aspect of bringing value to our continued relationship with Apeldoorn in the Netherlands.

The Park is currently in the last stages of being built and will feature a time capsule honouring Apeldoorn’s most recent visit to Burlington.

It has been an honour to host and MC our Apeldoorn liberation event each year.

I am currently working on a Japanese Garden at Tansley Woods Community Center to honour our twinning relationship with Itabashi, Japan.
