Spa Services from a Man’s Perspective
Is it too feminine, sissy, non manly or may I dare say Metro sexual (I wasn’t sure what this word really meant until recently) for men to enjoy the wonderful services that a spa offers? In my opinion NO! In today’s stressed out world Men need to look after themselves and the Blair Lancaster Spa has terrific services targeted for men.
I am not exactly sure why it has taken so long in North America for men to understand the importance of taking care of their bodies and skin with spa services. In Europe Spa services have been catering to men for many years. This is the norm not the exception. Men in North America are just starting to realize the benefits of looking good and feeling good and not thinking this is an environment only for woman.
Men in professional sports have realized the benefits of spa treatments for many years. The focus of some of the treatments at the spa is not necessarily for beauty or pampering, but for taking proper care of athletes to help with injuries and to prevent problems that could hinder their athletic performance. Pedicures for example are important for anyone who runs or skates. Pedicure services correct toe nail problems such as hang nails or ingrown nail, the same applies to manicures. The good part about manicures and pedicures for men is that we don’t have put up with nail polish application. I can assure you as a runner and a hockey player the agony of hang or ingrown nails and the pain associated with them. I must admit my first pedicure opened up a whole new world for me. Not only did I find it relaxing, my feet never felt better and when I put my skates or running shoes on I never have a problem.
Massage is another area that in my view is an absolute must for anyone, especially those in sports. Men tend to be hard on their bodies, in the gym or in any sport. Massage, whether it be for relaxation or therapeutic purposes is a service that can help relieve those sore muscles and help get rid of stress. Again, ask any pro athlete the importance of massage and I am sure they will you tell you it is part of their training.
Why in the world would men want waxing services? I am sure most men would think that waxing is something only woman should do. Wrong again, just ask any man who cycles, body builds, runs or wants to get rid of the solid eye brow across their forehead or the unwanted hair on their back. Cyclists and runners have been waxing their legs for a long time. Should they fall, the road rash injuries are painful and hair on the legs does not help in the healing process. Body builders want the clean well shined look for competitions and any hair on the body does no do justice for this look. Most men do not want hair on their back nor do they want the hairy solid eyebrow look.
Should men have facials? Of course! Even though men tend not to admit that they really want to look good and take care of their skin on their face, they really do. They just don’t admit it amongst themselves. I really don’t know many men who want to look weathered and aged before their time. With today’s facial treatments men can keep a healthy look to their skin and control problems such as sensitive, dry, aged, blemished or acne skin problems. By the way gentlemen, women really like men with healthy looking faces.

So is it too feminine, sissy or non manly for men to take advantage of the wonderful treatments that spas have to offer. No way! Woman have known about them for a long time, let’s not let them have all the fun or pampering. Most of all do it for your health.
Hope your partner treats you to the Blair Lancaster Spa!
